[Corporate Pulse] Building a highland of intellectual property services - CANTOOP attended the first general meeting of the third session of Shanghai Intellectual Property Service Industry Association

On the afternoon of June 30, 2025, CANTOOP IP Service (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "CANTOOP"), as a director unit of the Shanghai Intellectual Property Service Industry Association, participated in the 2024 annual meeting of the association and the first general meeting of the third session held at the Renaissance Caohejing Hotel. The meeting brought together nearly 300 industry representatives, including Wei Lan, deputy director of the Shanghai Intellectual Property Office, Yan Rui, director of the Public Service Department, and leaders of relevant departments, representatives of fraternal associations and members of member units, to witness the important moment of the development of the association.

The first stage of the meeting announced the construction achievements in the field of intellectual property services: 6 institutions were selected into the second batch of Shanghai leading institutions, 6 institutions were included in the third batch of head cultivation institutions, and the 2025 Shanghai Integrity Patent Agency was commended. In the party building and co-construction link, the party branch of the association signed cooperation agreements with the party branches of four units, including Shanghai Lawyer (Arbitration) Service Center, Caohejing Entrepreneurship Center, Pudong New Area Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital and Shanghai Blockchain Technology Association, injecting new momentum into the party building of the industry.

The first general meeting of the third session deliberated and approved the work report of the second council, the work report of the board of supervisors, the financial report of the council, and the revision and draft of the association's articles of association and membership fee management system, and elected a new council and board of supervisors. CANTOOP, as a governing unit, participates in the deliberation and voting throughout the process, and actively performs its duties as a director.

Fan Zheng, general manager of Shanghai Patent and Trademark Office Co., Ltd., was elected president and delivered an inaugural speech, emphasizing that the association will focus on high-quality development, improve service science and technology innovation capabilities, enhance industry competitiveness, and fully promote the Shanghai practice of building an intellectual property power. In her concluding speech, Wei Lan, deputy director of the Shanghai Municipal Intellectual Property Office, highly affirmed the past work achievements of the association, put forward ardent expectations for the new council, and called on all members to work together to promote Shanghai to build an international intellectual property center city.

The commendation session of the conference focused on commending the advanced representatives of the industry in 2024, covering excellent cases of "service innovation empowering enterprises", special talent awards, outstanding units for small, medium and micro enterprise assistance, winners of practical skills competitions, winners of high-quality development essay competitions, and winning teams of the badminton friendship competition. Before the closing, Zhu Yanting, an expert in the intellectual property review and guidance of Shanghai data products, gave a special speech on the "Shanghai Data Product Intellectual Property Registration and Storage Policy and Promotion Progress", drawing a professional footnote for the conference.

In the future, CANTOOP will continue to play its role as a governing unit, deepen the innovation of intellectual property services, actively respond to the call of the association, and contribute to Shanghai's acceleration of the construction of an international intellectual property service highland.
