A Successful Conclusion! CANTOOP Deepens Global IP Collaboration at the 148th INTA Annual Meeting in London
2026-05-08May 6, 2026 — The five-day 148th Annual Meeting of the International Trademark Association (INTA), held in London, has successfully concluded. As one of the most authoritative and influential events in the global intellectual property (IP) industry, the conference attracted a large number of participants from around the world. Legal executives and IP professionals moved between exhibition booths and meeting venues, engaging in in-depth discussions and professional exchanges that fostered a dynamic atmosphere for global industry collaboration.
CANTOOP President Yuan Dade, together with Li Minjie, Director of the International Department, and Yuan Xi, Director of Business Development, attended the event in London, UK. Throughout the annual meeting, the CANTOOP team maintained a strong on-site presence, actively engaging in client negotiations and in-depth exchanges with industry peers while efficiently managing all business connections amid the intensive exhibition schedule.

Over the course of the five-day event, the CANTOOP team maintained a highly efficient working rhythm, moving frequently between negotiation areas, reception lounges, and institutional booths to conduct direct, pragmatic, and results-oriented business discussions.

During on-site exchanges, many overseas peers raised practical industry concerns, including whether China has recently tightened its trademark examination standards and the average processing timeline for cross-border trademark opposition cases. Legal teams representing international brands also focused heavily on operational challenges, such as how to avoid trademark similarity risks when entering offline retail channels in Europe and how to efficiently collect evidence and handle infringement complaints on cross-border e-commerce platforms.
In response, the CANTOOP team provided immediate risk assessments and practical solutions based on real-case experience, enabling clear, efficient, and results-oriented communication.

During the exhibition, CANTOOP’s International Department and Business Development Department worked in close coordination. On one hand, the team actively engaged with overseas counterparts by visiting foreign institutional booths for face-to-face negotiations and document exchanges. They discussed differences in IP laws across jurisdictions, shared practical procedures for cross-border evidence collection, and explored mechanisms for coordinated cross-border IP enforcement.

For inquiries regarding compliance filings in the Chinese market, the team provided detailed explanations of documentation requirements, customs recordation procedures, and infringement penalty standards. Their clear and professional interpretation received strong recognition from overseas institutions. CANTOOP also established formal long-term cooperation mechanisms with multiple overseas law firms, laying a solid foundation for future case referrals and cross-border legal support.

On the other hand, the team focused on in-depth communication with brand clients. Many long-term partners visited the venue specifically for face-to-face meetings to review the progress of cooperative projects over the past year. Meanwhile, new clients sought consultation on IP strategies for Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Europe tailored to their business expansion needs.
As one corporate executive stated during negotiations, “We are preparing for large-scale expansion into the European market, and potential infringement risks are our top concern. We need a robust and reliable IP protection strategy.”
Drawing on its in-depth understanding of local trademark examination practices, the CANTOOP team identified high-risk trademark categories on site, proposed tiered registration and protection strategies, clarified key risk prevention measures, and secured multiple follow-up cooperation opportunities.

President Yuan personally led the team throughout the event, focusing on building connections with leading industry institutions and premium brand owners. He held high-level discussions with IP directors of multinational corporations and principals of overseas law firms, exchanging insights on complex cross-border infringement disputes and multi-jurisdictional IP protection strategies, while also finalizing several long-term strategic cooperation frameworks. Alongside strengthening existing partnerships, CANTOOP successfully expanded its network of high-quality overseas institutional partners, further enhancing its global service coverage.

The London trip proved highly productive and well-organized. Through pragmatic communication and precise business matching, CANTOOP further consolidated its overseas cooperation channels while gaining valuable first-hand insights into the latest regulatory developments and market challenges within the global IP industry.
Looking ahead, CANTOOP will continue optimizing its cross-border IP service system and strengthening its global service network. By delivering market-oriented, highly practical, and customized solutions, the company remains committed to promoting mutually beneficial cooperation across the global intellectual property industry.
