On December 5, 2024, CANTOOP IP Service (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.as the governing unit of Shanghai Intellectual Property Service Industry Association, was invited to participate in the sub-forum of the 21st Shanghai Intellectual Property International Forum and the 2024 SIPSA Intellectual Property Service International Summit, hosted by the Shanghai Intellectual Property Office and organized by the Shanghai Intellectual Property Service Industry Association. The summit was held at MGM Shanghai West Bund and brought together hundreds of guests, including leaders of the Shanghai Municipal Intellectual Property Office, business executives and experts from the World Intellectual Property Organization.
The forum kicked off under the auspices of Chenguang, the host of the Yangtze River Delta Voice of Shanghai Radio. Rui Wenbiao, Director General of Shanghai Intellectual Property Office, delivered an opening speech, emphasizing the important role of intellectual property in promoting high-quality economic development. Subsequently, the forum entered a compact and rich ceremony, including the broadcast of promotional videos, the release of policies, the signing of cooperation framework agreements and the collective signing of patent-intensive product rights protection insurance, etc., which fully demonstrated the latest achievements and plans of Shanghai in the field of intellectual property.
WIPO experts delivered a number of keynote speeches to share the latest developments in the global IP ecosystem. Mr. Karsten Fink analysed the opportunities and challenges of the global IP ecosystem, Mr. David Moose presented the latest developments of the Madrid System, Mr. Ignacio de Castro discussed alternative dispute resolution mechanisms, and Mr. Bai Guangqing elaborated on how the Hague System can help Chinese enterprises protect their IP rights across borders, providing participants with valuable international perspectives.
In the second half of the session, the agenda focused on specific industry practices, and a number of guests conducted in-depth discussions on hot topics such as the innovative application of data intellectual property, the differences between Chinese and European intellectual property practices, and the protection of new quality innovation. Xu Shang, Director of the Strategic Planning Division of the Shanghai Municipal Intellectual Property Office, and other industry experts delivered keynote speeches, providing participants with rich industry insights and practical experience to help enterprises better cope with challenges in the field of intellectual property
