A few days ago, the State Intellectual Property Office formulated a progress report on intellectual property rights protection assistance in 2022. According to the report, in 2022, the national intellectual property system actively implemented the deployment of the "14th Five-Year Plan for the Protection and Use of Intellectual Property Rights" on intellectual property rights protection assistance, continuously improved the working mechanism, improved the work system, standardized business development, strengthened the strength of the team, strengthened the basic conditions guarantee, and achieved remarkable results in various tasks.

The working mechanism for assistance in intellectual property rights protection has been continuously improved, and 24 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) across the country have formulated relevant norms and guidelines for assistance in rights protection, and strengthened the standardization and standardization of work. Twenty-six provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) have deepened protection cooperation with relevant departments to jointly form a joint force for protection. In 2022, the total annual number of visits to the China Intellectual Property Rights Protection Assistance Network reached more than 3 million, a year-on-year increase of 33.1%. Solid progress has been made in the work of intellectual property rights protection assistance, with more than 71,000 applications for rights protection assistance handled by intellectual property rights protection assistance institutions nationwide, including 32,000 applications for rights protection assistance for small, medium and micro enterprises, more than 46,000 consultation and guidance services, more than 2,400 intellectual property public welfare seminars and trainings, 11,000 reference opinions for intellectual property infringement determination, 618 intellectual property analysis and early warnings, and 309 on-site rights protection assistance services. The assistance for intellectual property rights protection has been extended to the grassroots level, and the strength of the team has been growing. By the end of 2022, there were more than 2,000 rights protection assistance institutions across the country, of which 28 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) had established a three-level rights protection assistance system at the provincial, municipal and county levels, and 16 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) had achieved full coverage of rights protection assistance institutions in prefectures and cities. More than 900 universities and social organizations have participated in rights protection assistance services, with more than 7,000 volunteers and more than 10,000 rights protection assistance experts.

In the next step, the State Intellectual Property Office will continue to improve the intellectual property rights protection assistance system, closely focus on the needs of innovation and development, promote the extension of the work system to the grassroots level, continuously consolidate the work foundation, strengthen capacity building, improve service quality and efficiency, and effectively enhance the accuracy, convenience and accessibility of rights protection assistance, so as to provide strong support for high-quality innovation and stable and healthy economic development.
