On April 1, the 2023 China Seed Conference and Nanfan Silicon Valley Forum opened in Sanya, Hainan, and Hu Wenhui, deputy director of the State Intellectual Property Office, attended the opening ceremony of the conference and delivered a speech.

Hu Wenhui pointed out that the State Intellectual Property Office has thoroughly implemented the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping and the decision-making and deployment of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, actively worked with relevant departments to comprehensively strengthen the legal guarantee for the protection of intellectual property rights in the seed industry, vigorously strengthened the law enforcement guidance for infringement cases in the seed industry, conscientiously organized and carried out special governance for the protection of trademarks, patents and geographical indications, and continued to strengthen the use of intellectual property rights in the seed industry, which provided a strong guarantee for helping to achieve self-reliance and self-reliance in seed industry science and technology and ensure national food security. The State Intellectual Property Office will continue to support the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port, vigorously strengthen the protection of intellectual property rights in the seed industry, and promote the acceleration of the high-quality development of the seed industry.

During his stay in Qiong, Hu Wenhui and his entourage successively visited the Sanya Yazhou Bay Science and Technology City Industry Promotion Center, the Yazhou Bay Seed Laboratory of Hainan Province, the Sanya Institute of Oceanography of the Ocean University of China, and the Sanya Intellectual Property Protection Center for field research. Hu Wenhui stressed that it is necessary to strengthen the protection and application of intellectual property rights in the seed industry, continuously improve the competitiveness of the seed industry, and accelerate the revitalization of the seed industry.
